Scuba Diving in the Red Sea
Reader Reviews:
Dive Site: Sha'ab El Fanadir
Location: About level with downtown Hurghada
Description: Reef
Depth: 25 metres max (82 feet)
Visibility: 25 - 30 metres (80 - 100 feet)
Rating: ****
Sha'ab El Fanadir is a large reef east of El Gouna. On the east side of the reef lies a popular mooring point at El Fanadir, a fairly typical Red Sea reef dive, offering great visibility, a reasonable amount of corals, blue spotted rays, lionfish, stonefish and the rest of the usual suspects. There were a lot of other boats here, probably due to it being close to the shore relative to the other sites. As this reef was my first ever Red Sea dive, to me it was pretty
fantastic!

El Fanadir is one of the most wonderful diving sites in Hurghada and in it you can make all kind of dives (drift - deep - and intro dive). For me it was a great experience because 3 times I reached the end of the drop off point in 3 different spots (55 m - 82 m - 70 m) and it's also great down there for nitrox and trimix dives. The vis is great in the drop off points.
