Scuba Diving in Sydney, Australia
Sydney is the capital of New South Wales and is located in south east Australia. It is famous for its opera house and harbour bridge, both landmarks of Australia as a whole. It is an attractive city full of restaurants and bars and if you are diving in this area it is well worth a visit. Surrounding Sydney are some relaxed, leafy suburbs and further out is Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park and the well known Bondii beach. A 45 minute drive to the west will take you to the Blue Mountains, Sydney's answer to the Grand Canyon and a must for anyone visiting the area.
For divers, water temperatures can be low even in hot weather due to Sydney's southerly latitudes. However there is plenty of variety of marine life and while the diving might not be well known enough to make tourists specifically consider coming here to dive, the area as a whole is well worth a visit and if you have a spare few days then fitting in some diving is worth some consideration. Also of note is the aquarium in Sydney. It is so big that it takes hours to walk around and has a fantastic shark tank - well worth a visit!
