Dive Site: Hardeep
Location: Samae-san / Sattahip area, Thailand
Description: WW2 Cargo ship
Length: 60 metres (200 feet)
Depth: 30 metres (100 feet)
Visibility: 10 - 15 metres (30 - 50 feet)
Rating: ****
A great shipwreck to go and visit. Moray eels, batfish, parrotfish, stingrays, cuttlefish and a vast array of different fish are seen. The best site in Samae-san.
Update May 2007
Recently a fishing boat had damaged a section of the Hardeep through dynamite fishing - the bow section has..unfortunately..cracked open so now the current flows right through it. This is a very big pity as it was a GREAT shipwreck to dive on. If you dive it on zero current (high tide slack) then you can still appreciate it. But this wreck is now getting worse for wear so EXPERIENCED wreck divers only should dive on this one...

What a fantastic dive, only my second dive in Thailand following a rather dull dive in Hat Nuan. We dived in zero current, and returned a good 5 or 6 times after!
